Company History
Founded in 1973, LBO has grown along with its diverse client base. For more than forty-five years our CPAs and Financial Service professionals have served a variety of corporate and individual clients in the New York, Long Island, and Tri-state Metropolitan area. Our growth has enabled us to expand the range of financial, tax and accounting services that we offer to our clients. We have developed “specialized” services in the following areas.

Our Team
Laura Marsh, Partner, CPA
Laura merged her practice with LBO in 1998. She has over thirty-five years of professional experience as a Certified Public Accountant. She is the firm’s specialist in Estate Planning, Gifting, and Trusts. She also has experience in Auditing, General Taxation, Accounting, and Business Consulting. Laura is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the American Business Associates. Laura has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from CW Post University. She is a Certified Public Accountant.

Carmela Zabusky, Partner, CPA
Carmela has over thirty-five years of Accounting experience as a Certified Public Accountant. She specializes in Hotel and Motel Accounting. Carmela is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. Carmela has a Bachelor of Science in Public Accounting from St. John’s University, and a Masters degree in Finance from Hofstra University. She is a Certified Public Accountant.

Jill Kaplain, Partner, CPA
Jill has over thirty years of Accounting experience as a Certified Public Accountant. She specializes in Hotel and Motel Accounting. Jill is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. Jill has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Hofstra University. She is a Certified Public Accountant.

Pedro J. Contreras, Jr., Partner, CPA
Pedro has over twenty-five years of professional experience as a Certified Public Accountant. He is the firm’s specialist in Data Management Services. Pedro is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. Pedro has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Hofstra University. He is a Certified Public Accountant. In addition, he earned a Certification in Business Valuation from the AICPA.
